Today you will be delving into the question of Competitive Advantage.  We have a Video and Powerpoint to discuss, and then we will be completing a worksheet that will help you figure out your Competitive Advantage for your Business Plan.  Please follow the video on the Daily Lesson Online for more information.  The link to the CA video (Click Link and Watch Dr. Allesandro's Video) is also viewable at home.

You will have a hard copy of this worksheet.  You need to fill it out as follows:
Grade Each Category For Yourself on a Scale of 1-10.  Mark each as a Strength or Weakness, then do the same for a similiar product from two different competitiors in the Philadelphia Area (Researched Online) and turn in your form to me.  Make sure you add a review of the form to your BP page on your website.

Today you will be adding a list of five of your favorite websites to your personal page and answering the Daily Journal Question as well.  Good Luck and have a great weekend.

Where Should I Start My Company?

TODAY'S ONLINE LESSON - Start-Up Costs: Location
(Click Link, Download Video, and Watch - Use Headphones For Best Audio Quality)

Today we will be investigating "WHERE?"  I would like you to use the following links to find an appropriate place to start your business in the Philadelphia Metro Area.  Make sure you understand that the pricing is usually listed per square foot of space.  You will need to decide what size business you need and post a link to the location you have chosen on your website.  Figure out the annual cost of your space and divide by twelve to put your monthly cost into your Start-Up Cost worksheet.  Additional costs will be investigated tomorrow and by the end of this section, you should know how much you need to start your company.  Use the following sites for research if you cannot find other commercial real estate sites:

DAILY LESSON ONLINE - Start-Up Costs
(Click Link and Download Video -Use Headphones For Best Audio)

Today I would like you to focus on the start-up costs associated with the business you have chosen to create.  Please list as many costs as you can think of in your daily journal, and then compare them to the worksheet I will hand out later.  I would also like you to create a Visio chart of your family tree and post it on your main web page. When you are finished, add a Daily Journal entry for the changes you made and you can PUBLISH the website.  We are gradually building our Business Plan one small bite at a time.
