MS WORD - Business Documents

ALL BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY STUDENTS:

During the next few days you will create the following documents:

     Memorandum

     Sales Flyer

     Industry Report Breif
 
     Business Cards

You must choose the type of business you are starting.  Please be creative but not vulgar.  You must email the business name and the industry and products you represent to me by tomorrow.  This is the same type of business you will be creating financial forms, marketing plans, and a business plan for.  You are the owner, and we will be presenting our businesses to the class before the end of the school year.  Good Luck!!

The U-Penn students will be here tomorrow to start the Scratch/Android project on Fridays.  For the next 8 weeks you will be working on digital animation and phone apps on Fridays.  The MS Word Term Paper is now due on Tuesday of next week (October 25th).

MS WORD - APA Term Paper Project

Today's project is an APA format Term Paper on the topic of your choice.  You will Start MS WORD, select NEW, type in APA in the Search Box, hit ENTER, and then select the 2nd Choice - TERM PAPER.  You will adjust the pages to include the following items:

  1. Title Page
  2. Table of Contents
  3. Abstract - 2 to 3 paragraphs that explain what your topic is and why you are researching it.
  4. Main Body of Paper - 3 to 5 pages no larger than 12-font, double spaced and you may include no more than two "Quarter-Page-Sized" pictures.
  5. Final Page must list at least 5 separate references/bibliography properly formed and listed.

This project is due by the end of your class period on Friday, October 21st.

Google Maps, Docs, and Other Tools

Students:

Today you will investigate Google Docs, Google Maps, and other Google Products.  YOU NEED A GMAIL ACCOUNT FOR THIS!!  If you do not have a GMAIL Account you must create one today.  After you have created a GMAIL Account, log in and send me an email.  You will set up a Calendar, Document, and a Personal Map.  Please share the document with me.  The Google Document you will be a description of the first four Habits for Highly Effective People and a definition of each in your own words.  Once created, share the document with me.

BUSTECH MAP

Your Google Map must include the following points:  UCHS, Your Home, Your favorite restaraunt, your favorite store, a bus stop near your home, and at least 5 historical/interesting sites in the city.  Once done, share your map with me as well.

MS MOVIE MAKER PSA PROJECT

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS

Public Service Announcement (PSA) Rubric

This week you will be completing a Public Service Announcement in MS Movie Maker.

Grading is as follows:

     The Public Service Announcement must use a minimum of 15 pictures or video clips

     PSA must be no less than 1:00 minute in length and no more than 2:00 minutes in length

     PSA must have smooth transitions between pictures

     PSA must use at least one piece of music.  If more, smooth transitions between sound bites

     PSA must have at least 3 facts about your topic
    
     PSA must be published as a movie file and viewable by Media Players

Following is the grading outline:
          30 points for neatness (smooth transitions)
          40 points for completeness  (All items present)
          10 points for within time limits
          20 points for partner review

MS MOVIE MARQUIS PROJECT

ALL:

Please create a Movie Marquis in MS Movie Maker.  It should be 15-30 seconds long and use audio, pictures/video, titles and effects.  When you have edited the movie and created it, please use the Finish Movie function of Save To Computer and create a movie file.  Email that file to me for credit for the project.
