Class Today

Hello All:

While I am out on a personal day, please use today to wrap up some loose ends before we start our MS Excel Personal Family Budget Project.

Journal Entry:  Please read the article at this LINK and write in your journal about how you can control your spending around the holidays and still get enough gifts for your family and friends.  Try to think about the amount of debt incurred during this time of year and tell me about two ways you could give a gift that did not cost anything.

Today I would like you to review your portfolio at Investopedia.com and check out our stock market game rankings.  Bear in mind that anyone with a portfolio value greater than mine on December 22nd, 2011 will be allowed to come to the 4th period pizza party.  There are also prizes for the best portfolio in each class!!

Finally,  Please review the two MS Excel spreadsheets we looked at previously this week.  Open Excel and be familiar with opening new documents, changing values, identifying specific cells, rows, and columns, and being able to save your work and post it to your website.

I would also like each of you to sign into your Scratch.Mit.Edu account and find a digital animation or game that you like and post it to the front page of your website next to the response form.  Please use the custom HTML block and past the applet of the game or cartoon of your choice.  If you do it right, I should be able to see/play the game you chose from your website when I pull it up.

Good Luck, See You All Monday!!

- Mr. S
